Louis Scott

Lewis Scott was a champion Iditarod musher in Alaska. He was a driven competitor who poured himself into racing, often at the cost of his family. Logan's mother, Amy, disappeared, and Lewis was left with their son. He struggled badly to connect with the boy. He cared more about winning the race than talking to him, and Logan never once heard his father say he loved him. By Lewis's own admission, he took better care of his dogs than his son. In the end he came to regret that neglect. He died on a glacier during a wilderness rescue, falling into a crevasse and cutting the rope so he would not drag his friend Will down with him. His last words were a message for Logan: that he was sorry, and that he loved him.
