Wooton Bassett is Odyssey's cheerful and famously eccentric mailman. He grew up in Alaska and comes from a wealthy family, though he lives simply and has a strained relationship with his stern father, Winston. His identical twin brother, Wellington, works in the family business. On his route Wooton mows lawns, washes dogs, and sings birthday songs, and the kids of Odyssey adore him. He is also the creator of the Power Boy comics, a fact he kept quiet for years, and of the superhero Captain Absolutely. A devoted Christian, he refuses to bend his convictions for money or family approval. He is a close friend of Whit, Connie, and Eugene at Whit's End, and a patient, generous mentor to lonely kids such as Grady McKay.
