Jefferson is the father of Alex Jefferson and lives in Odyssey with his wife, Mrs. Jefferson. He raises his son in a home with firm boundaries - bedtimes, chores, and curfews that Alex does not always appreciate. He is a parent who is willing to say no, and that word sits at the heart of who he is. When Alex once grew fed up with the rules and wished for total freedom, an imaginative adventure at Whit's End taught the boy that his father's "no" was really proof that he was loved. The Jeffersons also stand ready to discipline. After Alex confessed to sneaking onto a college computer system with his cousin Cal, he found himself grounded, but wiser for it.
