The next day started much like the previous. I got up, got ready, went to Nathan's car and went to work. For Devotions, we didn't meet with the entire Audio Resources team this time, but rather broke off into individual teams. Our team met in the Odyssey War Room, where the writers and engineers gather to read scripts, discuss plots, and throw ideas back and forth. Our team consisted of Chris, Nathan, Dave Arnold and myself. Dave read from a book of stories, and as I closed my eyes to take it in I realized something. Here I was, sitting in the same room with the man who was the voice of Jesus in "The Imagination Station I & II". It was very intimidating... if for only the reason that as I was growing up, I associated that man's voice with Jesus. It was very surreal to here him reading a story to me in the very same room.

For the rest of that day, I continued writing trivia questions and started inputing the actors audition tapes into the computer. Paul McCusker also approached me and thanked me for my work on the "Luke Reports" and needed me to go through a second set, to make sure it lined up with what I had done the previous day. That took about 45 minutes, and by then it was once again time to go home.

The rest of the week played out pretty much the same way every day. On the Wednesday, I met Kathy Wierenga for the first time who came back a day early from the recording sessions down in California. Then in the evening, as it was the one year anniversary of September 11, I went with my host family to a church service at Village Seven. The church served as a gathering point for all the members of the three Presbyterian churches in the area. Each pastor of their respective churches went up to the front to say a few words and we held a moment of silence for those lost.

Since the Fall Festival was fast approaching, I spent that entire Thursday working on my trivia questions so I could have something ready to go over with Marshal Younger (who was still not back from the recording sessions). At one point in time my uncrashable Mac crashed, forcing me to start a large majority of my questions over again. In fact, my Mac crashed 2 or 3 times per day that I was there... no wonder Nathan was so willing allowed me to use his office space! :o)

Then on Friday I finally got to meet Marshal Younger. And the two of us, along with Nathan and John, met in Paul McCusker's vacant office (who was now in England recording the "Luke Reports III"), and played out the entire 150 questions to see how well they could do. Since I wrote all the questions, and Nathan knows all the answers, the game was between John and Marshal. It was a close race... but John pulled out the victory. I jotted down notes during the game so I could make any changes to the questions later in the evening on my laptop at home. But before we could go home, Nathan and I along with Chris went to the Welcome Center to set up for the big event. We set up our table in a far off corner (which ended up being moved on us even further during that evening) and put up some props in the Little Theatre to give it an Odyssey feel. The next day was going to be fun, as I'd finally get to talk with fans of Odyssey!

It was great. I met OdysseyFan for the first time, and so Nathan, OdysseyFan, and myself stayed for a few photo ops, signed autographs, and mingled with the commoners... you know the typical thing famous people do. :o) On a more serious note, Nathan and I, along with Marshal and John, handed out free Odyssey related items such as Whit's End cups, trading cards, calendars, and pens to the fans who walked past our desk. We even had some Adventures in Odyssey balls that when bounced, lit up! Unfortunately we ran out of those pretty quick. Behind our desk we had a behind the scenes video playing, showcasing the making of "Exit" with all the actors performing their parts on camera. A very fun video to watch. I also met Marshal Younger's three girls: Bryn, Paityn and Kristyn. I had lunch with Bryn and Paityn and discovered something... their father may be a very funny guy, but these girls are absolutey hilarious. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip was hanging out with his kids... they're just great! Then, every hour was a brand new Odyssey Jeopardy, with John and Marshal trading off Alex Trebeck duties, while Nathan and I did our best Vanna White impersonations on the wrong show. The winner of each session of Odyssey Jeopardy would meet in the fifth and final round for a tournament of champions. In the end, a girl named Bethany was the winner! Unfortunately for her, she already had the grand prize (the entire CD collection of Adventures in Odyssey) and had the runner up prize (the entire Radio Theatre Collection). But there was one thing she didn't own... an Adventures in Odyssey glowing bouncing ball. So Nathan gave her his... and thus a legend was born.
