Trey Calhoun is the younger son of a family of stars in Odyssey. His mother Kayla forecasts the weather on television, his father Joseph is a brain surgeon, and his older brother Cooper is a quarterback. Trey is convinced he is not much good at anything himself. He is shy and eager to please, and he worries about his future and about measuring up. Quietly, though, he keeps his busy household running with cooking, laundry, and coffee. Cooking is his real passion. He dreams of becoming a chef, and he mows lawns to save for kitchen equipment. He spends time at Whit's End, where Mr. Whittaker encourages him, and he learns that failing at something is not the end of the story.
