| George Barclay is given an opportunity to pastor in a small town called Pokenberry Falls, but to accept the position would mean the Barclays would have to leave Odyssey. |
The Barclays get a postcard from Pokenberry Falls in this episode which says, "Wish You Were Here!", the title of album #21. Also, a member of the church in Pokenberry Falls describes the town's state as the "Darkness Before Dawn", which was, of course, the title of album #25. - Waluigi Freak 99 |
Pokenberry Falls was actully going to be Bedford Falls. The town that Wonderful Life takes place in. - DavidNo! They were originally naming it Polkenberry Falls to make it a play off of Bedford Falls. They never had any intention to exactly copy the name of the town in It's a Wonderful Life! - Christian A.If you read the complete guide it did say that it was going to be Pokenberry Falls but the writers couldn't remeber the name of the town that a wonderful life took place in. So they came up with the Pokenberry Falls name and it stuck. - David |
The motel in Odyssey that Ellis stays in, the Simple 6, is probably a play of a chain of motels, Super 8. - JonathanThe RFD part of the title is probably a reference to the show "Mayberry RFD", a short lived spin-off of the Andy Griffith Show. - JonathanI think the spoof on the Siple 6 would be Motel 6 not Super 8. - DavidI ment to first say Bedford Falls in my post above. - David |
