On the news report it said early returns had Tom Riley with 77 percent and Bat Rathbone with 14 percent. The numbers don't add up 77+14=91 not 100. If Tom had 77 percent that Bart would have 23 percent unless there was some big write in caimpain which of course was never mentioned.

Often times the votes don't actually equal 100% for various reasons - such as not voting, write in campaigns and other legitimate reasons. So it is possible it was a math goof, it can also validly be explained in other ways.

Tom's fuss over makeup for the televised debate may have been a sly reference to the 1960 Presidential debate, where Nixon didn't wear makeup, much to his detriment.
