Manuel

Manuel is a Christian leader in a remote village where Jason Whittaker helped build a church and missionary radio station. He welcomes Jason back when rebels threaten the community and a persuasive newcomer named Victor draws people away with a false message. Manuel's young son Luis admires Jason so completely that he imitates the missionary's confrontational methods and places himself in danger. While Jason tries to defeat Victor through dramatic action, Manuel and the other villagers continue serving amid fear and destruction. Their situation helps Jason recognize that the church must depend on God rather than a human hero. Manuel's family represents the local believers whose courage, patience, and quiet kindness sustain the village after visiting helpers leave.
