Larry Kent

Larry Kent is a former classmate of Eugene Meltsner who was believed to have defeated him for their high school's valedictorian honor. Eugene fled before the vote, convinced he would suffer another humiliation, and carried that regret for years. Katrina later invites Larry to Odyssey, where he apologizes and explains what truly happened. He brings a certificate bearing Eugene's name, proving that Eugene had actually received the award he was too frightened to claim. Larry's visit corrects a painful misunderstanding and helps Eugene face the past he avoided. Rather than boast about an old rivalry, Larry offers honesty and restitution. His willingness to return with the truth gives Eugene a long-delayed reason to celebrate an accomplishment he had mistaken for failure.
