Kevin Colburn

Kevin Colburn is Erica Colburn's father and a vice president at Novacom who takes over management duties after Arthur Dent. Courteous but firm, he warns Whit to stop criticizing the company's programming and leaves no doubt that they stand on opposite sides. Kevin's position becomes threatened when Novacom demands that he obtain Whit's Imagination Station within one week. Erica secretly tries to save his job by making a deal with Bennett Charles and helping steal the machine. Her desperate effort fails because Charles dismisses Kevin anyway. Kevin's predicament shows the pressure Novacom places on its own employees and the danger of trusting powerful leaders whose promises depend entirely on whether someone remains useful to their plans.
