Josh

Josh is Amy's ten-year-old son and a boy who longs for time with his busy father. He has started model airplanes with his dad but has never finished one alongside him. Jason Whittaker meets Josh while stranded at the family's home during a storm and initially keeps watching the window for transportation to a youth retreat. Hearing the boy's disappointment makes Jason recognize his own habit of letting plans crowd out the person before him. He gives Josh the whole evening instead. They share baseball cards, play a lopsided board game, and even work on a clogged drain. The ordinary attention matters more than the event Jason misses and gives Josh the companionship he has been waiting to receive.
