Guy Goodfellow

Marshal Guy Goodfellow is the clean-cut hero of a Western musical melodrama performed by a traveling theater troupe in Odyssey. He warns a comfortable frontier town that outlaw Mal Geist is dangerous, then lassoes the foul-smelling robber and sends him into the desert. The townspeople ignore Guy's advice to prepare for trouble. Mal soon returns with seven rotten brothers, and the Reprobate Eight threaten to burn the town and hold everyone captive. Guy courageously trades himself for the prisoners. When the outlaws fire, he escapes unharmed because their rifles point at one another and he simply ducks. Brave, alert, and wonderfully theatrical, Guy saves people who would not listen to him. He embodies the kind of hero who combines sacrifice with a well-timed comic victory.
