Francesca

Francesca is a Venezuelan villager who helps Dr. Lily Graham and missionary pilot Jeff Lewis during a medical emergency. When the young mother Maya becomes dangerously ill, Francesca explains that a traveling jungle healer had given her medicine for back pain. The healer may be distributing unsafe or counterfeit drugs, but his home lies two days away on foot and Maya cannot wait. Francesca flies with Lily and Jeff to the isolated hut, where they discover a huge collection of black-market medicines. Although the exact drug is not immediately found, her information gives the team its strongest clue. Francesca's local knowledge helps connect Maya's mysterious symptoms to a dangerous treatment and moves the rescuers closer to saving her.
