Dr. Fred J. Faustus

Dr. Fred J. Faustus is a cartoon villain in The Night Travelers. Assisted by his henchmen Niles and Edgar Bass, and accompanied by a beloved pet snake, Faustus pursues control with theatrical confidence. He steals one of Whit's inventions and transforms it into the Manipulation Station, a device designed to take command of people's minds. A boy, the stray dog he rescues, and Whit must work together to stop the scheme. Faustus values power and possession above the well being of others, making him a sharp contrast to the story's message about storing treasure in heaven rather than on earth. Clever, dramatic, and selfish, he turns invention into a weapon whenever it can help him dominate someone else.
