Alice Funderburk

Alice Funderburk is a child in Odyssey and one of the founding citizens of Kidsboro, a town of clubhouses in the woods that Whit built so children could govern themselves. No adult may enter Kidsboro uninvited, and its young citizens make their own laws. Alice serves as the town's chief of police, working alongside Mayor Ryan and Nelson, the town inventor. She took part in Kidsboro's earliest council meetings, which struggled at first even to agree on how to vote. Her taste of real law enforcement came on a Career Day outing, when she ended up buried in police paperwork. Like the other children, she came home from that day wanting real work of her own - a wish Kidsboro grants her.
