Absalom

Absalom was a handsome and charming prince of Israel whose ambition turned him against his father, King David. After killing a man, he lived in exile and later returned on the condition that he could not see the king. Absalom carefully won public affection by flattering people and suggesting that he would judge their concerns better than David. He then declared himself king in Hebron and drove his grieving father from Jerusalem. The charming prince became a furious tyrant, determined to hunt David and destroy those with him. During battle, Absalom's famous hair caught in a tree, and General Joab killed him. His rebellion ended, but David mourned deeply for the son whose pride and resentment had consumed both loyalty and love.
