As a follow-up to the flood of new information that came out about the new season yesterday, I've been alerted that some of the information has already changed. "Endless Possibilities" is no longer the album title and "Spinal Trent" is no longer the name of an episode airing this season. There's also a swap in the airdates for a couple of the shows which I have not yet reflected on the site. This is the exact reason insider information is generally released once it has been set in stone... and why we normally don't get this kind of information so far in advance. It's just get's way too complicated around here! :o)

UPDATE: Ok, The Official Site has posted the corrected information. "Spinal Trent" is actually called "The Coolest Dog", and will be the next season premiere airing in January. We've also been told the twelfth title in the next album will be "A Glass Darkly" (also airing in 2005). The album itself will be titled "Along for the Ride", though this info isn't available on The Official Site yet. And to top things off, a couple additions were made to the album description (again this might be considered a spoiler for those who don't want to know):

Why can't Tom, Bart, Connie, and Whit decide what kind of commercial would best promote Whit's End?

Why is Jack Allen having a hard time with his seemingly perfect new employee?

Jollyholiday over on The Town Hall has recently leaked another album title. This time it's album 43: "Endless Possibilities", and will contain a dozen shows that we have not even heard yet. So thank you Jolly for sharing this information!

And for me, despite my busy school schedule, I have begun collaborating on another feature I'd like to launch at the Soda Fountain in the very near future. Details will come at a later time, but if all goes according to plan, it should be very fun for fans of AIO.

UPDATE: Jollyholday has leaked even more information about "Endless Possibilities", including the titles of all but one of the episodes. Most of these titles have been previously unannounced. Now, the titles, air dates, and episode numbers are still subject to change... but the listing I've put up is going to be fairly accurate. So here are the titles of the episodes that will be airing this season:

548: Sounds Like a Mystery

549: Think on These Things

550: Fairy Tal-e-vision

551: Stars in Our Eyes

552: Sunday Morning Scramble

553: Potential Possibilities *

554: Call Me if You Care *

555: True Calling *

556: And That's the Truth *

557: A Lamb's Tale *

558: Spinal Trent *

* New title

Here's also a description of the album. Warning, some information may be considering spoilery:

Odyssey is buzzing with activity! Why is the Statue of Liberty missing? Why is a young boy so desperate to find a toy lamb? Will anyone show up to see Marvin Washington's new band? Why are cows filing a class action lawsuit against Little Boy Blue? And who's been leaving mysterious messages on Connie's voice mail? Find the answers to these questions and more in this latest release from Adventures in Odyssey!"

Today, The Official Site posted the final hint for "Sounds Like a Mystery" ... and it's a big one: The entire first two minutes of the show! So if you want the inside scoop on what to expect in the season opener, head over to the site and download the clip. Remember, a week from tomorrow the new season will begin... don't forget! (As if you could!)

The names of the next three Gold Audio series have been leaked. Jollyholiday posted this news on The Town Hall, and since I am able to confirm these titles are correct, I've released the updated album pages accordingly. "Terrific Tales, Mysterious Missions" will be renamed "Mission: Accomplished". "Courageous Characters, Fabulous Friends" will be known as "On Thin Ice" (which we've known for some time) and "Cunning Capers, Exciting Escapades" has been transformed into "Beyond Expectations". As usual, the Odyssey Scrapbook features will be making a return, but there's also a very significant change to these albums which will make any die hard fan smile. However, the exact details of these changes will be coming at a later date. Expect the albums to be available March 2005.

For you video game fans out there, Focus on the Family now lists "Treasure of the Incas" and "Sword of the Spirit" in their bookstore for purchase. Despite the lack of a "Coming Soon" notification appearing on either of their product pages, I don't believe they are in fact ready for release. However, I'll let you know as soon as that information becomes available.

Today there's a couple nuggets of gold to be found over at The Official Site. First off, the third of four hints has been revealed about "Sounds Like a Mystery": This episode involves Whit trying to solve a mystery by listening to sounds recorded at Whit's End. Also, all the episode titles for the month of October have been revealed! They are as follows:

548: Sounds Like a Mystery
549: Think on These Things
550: Fairy Tal-e-vision
551: Stars in Our Eyes
552: Sunday Morning Scramble

I've added an entry for each of the titles in my Episode Guide and will of course add more information as it becomes available.

When it rains it pours... school's begun, work continues, and I have had very few opportunities to pull myself away from real life to visit the internet in any way, shape, or form. Aside from the Calculus, Statistics and Data Algorithm classes I'm taking, I'm also enrolled in two English classes simultaneously. One is Detective Fiction while the other is Science Fiction... so what this means is I'll be reading books or writing essays in every spare moment I have. To be honest, I've read more in the past week than all of last year combined, and likely when the semester is over, will have read more books than in all my life! (In case you're wondering, I don't read that often). So it's going to be quite the challenge, but I'm up for it.

What's this does mean is that The Soda Fountain may take a back seat from time to time. Oh, I'll still provide the latest news and updates, as well as reviews every Saturday for the new season, but extras I would like to add will take some more time. For example, while the actor database is a priority of mine to finish up for the site, it's unfortunately not a real life priority. October 2 is fast approaching, and rather than promise you (and thus burden myself to meet that date) I will once again need to delay it's release (please direct all hate mail here). :o(

I'm currently reading The Moonstone, and in it, the author quotes a portion of Robinson Crusoe which I found rather fitting for my predicament: "Now I saw, though too late, the Folly of beginning a Work before we count the Cost, and before we judge rightly of our own Strength to go through with it." (page 129). Rather fitting no? Though the latter is untrue... I do possess the strength to go through with it, though currently that strength is being exerted in various other works. I sincerely apologize, and promise never to speak of the database again until it's finished.

The Official Site will be posting a hint for the new season at some point in time today. So if you get a chance, check it out and see what's in store for the coming season which (as most of us know) will begin October 2, 2004!

September 07, 2004
So far, I've made only a small dent in the remaining workload for the actor database... October 2 is still my target date, but we'll see how busy I get with school starting tomorrow and my job still underway. But I definitely hope to get this thing out of the way sooner, rather than later. So stay tuned for the latest.

Also, it was two years ago today that I flew down to Colorado Springs to begin my internship with the Odyssey team. If you're new to this site, check out the link below for a detailed account (including pictures) of my time!

I've known about it for a long time, but I finally went and downloaded a copy of Firefox to use as my browser. So, to test out my new browsing companion, I fired up The Soda Fountain to see how it looks.

Ugly. That's right. For the roughly eight months this site has been running, The Soda Fountain has looked terrible on Firefox. The layout pieces surrounding the text were not aligning themselves properly and it looked very, very poorly done. However, I've since rectified that problem and the site looks better for all you Firefox users out there! I apologize for the absolutely terrible looking site you've had to look at for so long.

In the future, if anyone notices anything that doesn't look right about this website... let me know. It's quite likely not the way things are supposed to look! ;o)

And for those curious... I've since uninstalled Firefox and decided not to use it. I've found that for the pages I typically visit, they take nearly double the length of time to load... I wasn't unhappy with Internet Explorer 6 anyway, I was just trying something new. ;o)

September 03, 2004
Well The Official Site went and spoiled my surprise! It's now confirmed that Chief Quinn will be appearing in the season premiere episode "Sounds Like a Mystery". This is the character I was referring to in my August 10th update. And for those with eagle eyes, you may have noticed I used the phrase "Sounds Like a Mystery" on my July 28th update... directly referencing the title.

Can you find the other clues I've laid out about what to expect this season? Keep looking!

Out with the old month, in with the new. October is nearly here, August's already through! Ah, good old Eugene and his ukulele. If you're completely baffled by what I'm singing, check out "New Year's Eve Live!" where Eugene plays the classic tune 'Seasonal Felicitations'. Very catchy... you know what would be great? An album of Eugene songs!

I can dream can't I? Speaking of our resident geek-meister, there's a new site up on the net called "Eugene Forever". There's not much Meltsner info on the site, but it's got some basic AIO information as of right now. So why not spend a few minutes of your time supporting the web's newest AIO Site?
