July 31, 2002
So where are the updates? Well not much has been going on recently so there hasn't been much to post :o) Although these past few days I've been working extremely hard on two very big things to come. First and foremost is the character lists/bios (I've gone through 100 episodes so far and recorded the characters who appear in order of appearance as well as writer/director/production engineer). The second big project I'm working on (and in many cases bigger), is still off in the distance but should be up and running in a couple weeks. I think a lot of fans will enjoy it, so keep coming back!

July 29, 2002
Well it's day early, but the "Battle Lines 2002 Awards" results are now available! The comments you, the fans, sent in will be posted in the coming days. You can also check out the AIOHQ's writeup here. Enjoy!

July 27, 2002
It's unfortunate, but it looks like the "Battle Lines 2002 Awards" results will be postponed until Tuesday. With the Focus on the Family 25th anniversary taking place and things really hectic, the results won't be ready until later this weekend. So please vote if you haven't done so and the results will be posted on Tuesday. I apologize for any inconvenience.

July 26, 2002
Today is your last chance to vote in the "Battle Lines 2002 Awards"! Tomorrow the AIOHQ and The Soda Fountain will be posting the results of the poll. In the meantime, here are the results from the most recent Soda Fountain poll (note it ran shorter than normal):

The Soda Fountain Poll: July 22 - July 25
Shadowpaw: Male of Female?

Male 74%
Female 26%

So 74% of the viewers here feel that I'm a guy, and 26% feel that I'm a girl. Well to the right is a picture of me when I was three years old... I am in fact a guy :o) So for those who voted that I was a male, thank you! And for all those who voted that I was a female, thank you as well! I've never really given any indication as to what gender I was and I certainly can't blame anyone for thinking of me as girl. The internet has the ability to fool a lot of people, even unintentionally.

July 25, 2002
Alright, so this is the deal with the character lists/bios that will be added to the Episode Guide. For every episode I will be listing the characters involved (in order of appearance), and also be adding the writer/director/production engineer of every episode. When you click on the character's name, you will be taken to a page that will list all the episodes that character appears in as well as the actor who plays them. There will also be a very short bio for every character (even something as minor as "Television reporter"). Now, my hope for the future is to have an individual actor page that lists all the episodes that actor can be found in... but until I database this site, that is a huge task that I just don't have the time for. In any case, the Character lists/bios should be available at the end of August. (That's tentative... it'll likely be sooner).

July 24, 2002
Well the results for the Soda Fountain poll are in, and they are as follows: (Thank you to the 83 people who voted!)

The Soda-Fountain Poll: July 9 - July 21
What Changes/Additions Would You Like Made to the Soda Fountain?

Redesign the Site 41%
Character Lists/Bios 14%
More Reviews 8%
More Articles 8%
Registered Domain 7%
New Graphics 6%
New Message Board 5%
Nothing! 4%
More Interviews 4%
Updated Schedule 2%

So what do I do now? Obviously most people would like me to redesign the site, though I've received a lot of emails/posts/comments regarding the fact they don't feel I need to change things up. I've also been tinkering around with databases to make updating this site easier on myself by cross linking everything (I won't go into details), but unfortunately databasing won't work on my server. So eventually when I get my own domain, I will redesign the site with an entirely new database and likely at that time I will change other stuff around to. In the meantime, I have begun work on the "Character Lists/Bios" which is a pretty huge task itself. Since this post is already pretty long, I'll be providing the details on the "Character Lists/Bios" tomorrow.

July 23, 2002
For those of you who haven't heard yet, these are some of the titles for the upcoming season (be aware that the titles are always subject to change):

"The Pact I & II"
"For Trying Out Loud"
"B-TV: Bible"
"For the Fun of It"
"Benefit of the Doubt"

What do the titles all mean? I guess we'll have to wait and find out in the coming months.

July 22, 2002
So much to talk about today! First off, the AIOHQ has posted the transcript from their chat on Saturday. It's a funny read and pretty informative if you missed it. Secondly, please remember to vote in the "Battle Lines 2002 Awards"... we have a lot of votes thus far but some of the results are pretty close! Thirdly, you may have noticed a new poll to the right. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about the previous poll; the results of that poll will be posted here Tuesday for all to look at. However, this poll deals with an issue that was brought up at The Town Hall yesterday concerning my gender ;o) Hehe it's a silly, pointless poll, but I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone thinks.

Also the "Exit Countdown" has been taken down from the top of this site to make way for the Andromeda Q and A. It has been officially archived in the Misc Section. So whenever you want to listen to some of the important clips from the Novacom arc, that's where you should head :o)

July 21, 2002
Yesterday the AIOHQ held a chat with Marshal Younger, Kathy Wierenga, John Beebee, and Nathan Hoobler! Some very interesting things came out of the chat such as:

The new season will tentatively begin January 11, 2003. (so far away!)
Nathan Hoobler has written a new mystery episode that will be titled "The Pact I & II".
A new African American couple will be introduced in the next season
There are many plans for Whit's End Connellsville.
Kathy Wierenga is engaged! (ok not really related, but congratulations Kathy!)

For much more information, visit the AIOHQ where a transcript of the chat will be posted later in the day. In other, perhaps even bigger news, the Andromeda Q and A has been updated with commentary from Nathan Hoobler! It's a very enjoyable read that I think everyone should take a look at. There's a lot of reading, but it's well worth it if you want to know as much about the story arc as possible (including what went through the writer's minds as they wrote it!). Enjoy!

July 20, 2002
Today the AIOHQ is hosting a chat with the writers! That's right, at 5:00pm MT, head on over to the AIOHQ where there will be further instructions on where to go to talk with the writers. Try and get there as early as possible so you don't miss any of the chat.

Then tomorrow the Andromeda Q and A will be posted with Nathan Hoobler's own commentary on 85% percent of the questions asked. It's a very informative read that any true Odyssey fan won't want to miss.

July 18, 2002
Well the votes keep rolling in for the "Battle Lines 2002 Awards". Please get a vote in if you haven't already done so and stop by July 27 for the results! Also be aware that this Saturday at 7:00pm ET (which is 4:00pm PT, 5:00 MT, and 6:00 CT) there will be a chat held at the AIOHQ. And this isn't just any old chat... John Beebee, Kathy Wierenga, Nathan Hoobler, and Marshal Younger will all be on hand to field the fan's questions. It's something you definitely won't want to miss!

In other news, more thought has been put into the new game show that may (or may not) be held here at The Soda Fountain. If it does go live, there's a strong chance it will be linked with another established site for some period of time... keep checking back here for more information.

July 14, 2002
The AIOHQ and the Soda Fountain are proud to present the "Battle Lines 2002 Awards"! We would like you to cast your vote in any of the categories listed, and the results will be posted in the coming weeks. Have fun voting!

July 13, 2002
"500" aired today. It's a great behind the scenes look at Adventures in Odyssey, as well as a quick paced "500 seconds" look at the series we all love. You can listen at Oneplace to the radio version, or go over to The Official Site and listen to an extended version with an additional 4 minutes of audio. Congratulations Odyssey!

July 12, 2002
Well looking at the poll results thus far, looks like most people want me to redesign the site. I'll have to do some thinking and see what I'd be able to do if that's what I decide to do. It's just hard because I don't really see much of a problem with the current layout as it's not cluttered nor is it busy and everything's fairly easy to find. Like I said, I'll do something thinking.

I've also put some thought into a new game very similar to AIO Survivor which was a huge hit... only this time it's about a show on ABC. We'll see :o) And the Andromeda Q and A answers that Nathan Hoobler has promised to do will be postponed for a little over a week. We decided that since the AIOHQ will be hosting a chat next weekend with the writers, we'd let a lot of fans ask the writers themselves the answers to several of the questions before I post them in stone... so to speak :o)

July 09, 2002
The Soda Fountain hasn't used a poll like this in a long, long time. I guess I feel a lot like Whit did back in "The W.E."... I'm losing touch with the fans and want to know what I can do to help remedy the situation. Please take a moment or two and decide which of those options you'd most like to see added/changed on the site. If what you would really like to see on the site isn't on the list, please choose your next most wanted thing and then leave a comment in the results page. I want to take everyone's suggestion into consideration.

July 08, 2002
Now that the whole Novacom arc is all wrapped up, fans have got a lot of questions. The Andromeda Q and A is the number one place to go on the internet if you have a question about the Andromeda/Novacom saga. And exclusive to the Soda Fountain, Nathan Hoobler will be providing his own commentary on nearly every questioned raised to hopefully shed some light for fans who are confused about any aspect of the arc. If you have a question you are desperate to have answered but don't know who to contact, drop me an email and I'll include it in the Q and A section for Nathan to answer.

The commentary will be posted this weekend, so be sure to come on back for a very insightful read.

July 06, 2002
"Exit", the Novacom finale aired today! If you haven't heard it yet, head to Oneplace and listen for yourself. It's a great episode with non stop action for almost the entire episode.

Available now: A special "Exit" clip in the "Exit Countdown" section.

July 05, 2002
Dun, dun, dun. "Exit" airs tomorrow! The time is almost here and believe me when I say the wait has been well worth it. As today is a special day, both the AIOHQ and the Soda Fountain are hosting 2 clips each from the episode "Exactly as Planned ". So check out the "Exit Countdown" and check back tomorrow evening for a special clip from the episode "Exit".

And for all you "Wonderworld" users out there, be sure to check your mail. There's a very funny Chris blooper available on the website that was cut from "500".

July 04, 2002
Happy Independence Day to all you Americans who come and visit this site! You definitely deserve the day off. Now, onto the second last day of the "Exit Countdown". Both the Soda Fountain and AIOHQ's clips are from the episode "Expect the Worst". Tomorrow there will be 2 clips on each site, rather then the usual 1.

Now, for those who aren't yet aware, OdysseyRadio is currently running an AIO Awards for the Adventures in Odyssey sites around the web. Cast your vote for which site is your favorite overall, favorite information site, favorite layout, favorite reviews, and favorite message board. The Soda Fountain is nominated in every category and is losing big time in every category... so be sure to cast your vote! (Even if it's not in favor of this little site). See you all tomorrow!

July 03, 2002
The Official Site has posted this information about this weekend's episode "Exit":

The whole gang races to prevent “launch date,” but finds Andromeda's plans to thwart them all the more frightening.

You may have also noticed the image on the right (as well as a large version of the image on the album info page) for "Battle Lines" has been released. Tom, Alex, and Cal are running away from the tower which is crumbling in the background. "The Explosive Conclusion of the Novacom Saga" is written in a yellow oval under the words "Battle Lines". The image is from the episode "Expect the Worst"... unfortunately it is a bit off when it comes to accurately depicting that particular scene.

Onto the "Exit Countdown". Today's clip is from "The Unraveling", while the AIOHQ's clip is from "Exceptional Circumstances".

July 02, 2002
I apologize for yesterday's update, or lack thereof. The update was all ready to go and then I realized the internet was down for me. I waited for a few hours and it never revived itself so I went to sleep... got up and tried to upload it and it was still down. It finally works and again, I'm sorry. Now onto today's "Exit Countdown"... day 9! The Soda Fountain is home to a clip from "Box of Miracles" and AIOHQ has a scene from "Sheep's Clothing". And look at the countdown clock above? Just barely 3 days left!

July 01, 2002
It is now July 1st! Happy Canada Day! Also, "Exit Countdown" reaches day 8 of clips. The Soda Fountain brings you a clip from "The Black Veil II" and the AIOHQ has a clip from "Twisting Pathway". Only 5 days left to the Novacom finale "Exit", which the entire world is waiting to hear! :o) I can't wait!
