Just a reminder that the voting will end for The AIOHQ / Soda Fountain End of Season Awards tomorrow, July 1, so if you haven't already done so please be sure to get in your vote ASAP!

June 28, 2004
I've opened up the Video Games section to this site. You'll be able to find a link to it on the left from this day forward, and while there isn't that much information available right now, I hope to gather any and all information that trickles out of Digital Praise for you to read about here.

I've also modified the left side panel images. Rather than display the arrows pointing to the words when you scroll over them, I've changed them to a solid color of red.

With yesterday's big annoucement about the AIO video games, I forgot to mention that the 4th and final part of "The Day Ambrosia Stood Still" aired. Everything in the mystery is wrapped up, so you should go to Oneplace and tune in! And since The Town Hall has fallen again, feel free to use The Soda Fountain Boards in the meantime. There's currently a dozen members signed up, but if you spread the word, we can find all of The Town Hall's lost souls and bring them here!

And don't forget to check back tomorrow for a new section devoted to the video games.

Colorado Springs, CO and Fremont, CA - June 25, 2004 - In a move sure to thrill millions of avid radio listeners, Focus on the Family and Digital Praise Inc. formally announced today that the companies have joined forces to offer interactive game versions of the popular Adventures in Odyssey ® radio drama series. Focus on the Family has granted Digital Praise the rights to publish interactive game versions of Adventures in Odyssey on all platforms, including PC (Windows and Mac), video game consoles (Sony PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo Game Boy Advance and GameCube) and mobile devices (phones and PDAs). Digital Praise, a Silicon Valley developer of Christian games, is currently producing the first of these titles, targeted for release this fall. In a move sure to thrill millions of avid radio listeners, Focus on the Family and Digital Praise Inc. formally announced today that the companies have joined forces to offer interactive game versions of the popular Adventures in Odyssey® radio drama series.

"Focus on the Family is excited about offering our loyal fans a series of interactive computer games set in Odyssey," said Paul McCusker, vice president for Focus on the Family. "We believe the combination of the Digital Praise's technical expertise and its mission to promote family-friendly, faith-based entertainment makes the company an excellent partner to realize this vision."

That's right. There are two great loves in my life: AIO and computer games. And now the two have merged into one! The company who will be creating the games is Digital Praise, a Christian company. However, don't expect an AIO computer game like the one that was released 5 years ago. These are going to be two (possibly more) adventure/mystery games where you get to play Whit, Connie, and Eugene! The current PC/Mac titles are The Treasure of the Incas and The Sword of the Spirit. More information about the games can be found by visiting their site.

On Monday I will be launching a new section to my website devoted to the video games, timed with their official unveiling that same day at CBA International 2004. The games are rated 'E' for everyone and will have a suggested retail price of $29.95 USD.

The Town Hall is back and has officially renewed it's domain. However, The Soda Fountain Boards will continue to remain open after the request of some of the members. It will always be available if The Town Hall falls off the face of the earth again, but at least for the foreseeable future, I will leave the board intact and available to anyone who would like to use it right now. Personally, I think there's more than enough message boards out there as it is...

And if you haven't voted in The AIOHQ / Soda Fountain End of Season Awards, now is the time to do so! We've decided to move the closing date from July 13 to... July 1! We will tally up the official results on Friday evening and post the results during the weekend. So make your voice heard before it's too late!

June 23, 2004
I've spent several hours creating a new forum for users to use as it appears The Town Hall has fallen yet again. So I am officially opening up the brand new Soda Fountain Boards.

All images have been created from scratch and I created a color scheme to match the Soda Fountain. Unfortunately, since I upgraded to the latest version of phpBB, all registrations from the previous board was lost... however, with The Town Hall down anyway, I figure it won't be that big of a deal. So have fun posting!

It seems like months ago (wait a minute, it was months ago) that I ordered my gold copies of "The FUN-damentals" and "Daring Deeds, Sinister Schemes". After countless delays, I ended up canceling my orders through Amazon and called up Focus on the Family Canada who promptly shipped "Daring Deeds, Sinister Schemes" and "Father Gilbert Mysteries III" (I wanted it instead of "The FUN-damentals"). I received them in the mail last night, and I'm delighted to add that the booklet was included (short but nice). Unfortunately, everything is labeled "Daring Deeds and Sinister Schemes". Note the and instead of the comma from the original title of the album. You may recall my comments on March 15 and 16 of this year, in which I noticed the problem but was told it had been fixed. Apparently this is not the case... thus, I have officially changed the title "Daring Deeds, Sinister Schemes" to the new version: "Daring Deeds and Sinister Schemes". Some may think I'm being too nit picky, and maybe I am... but it IS inaccurate. Especially when the booklet refers to it with the comma, when all the accompanying art dictates something else.

Also, for those who own the Gold Audio Album 4, is everything labeled "The FUN-damentals" or "FUN-damentals"? In all the CD/tape art I've seen, they've forgotten to place a "The" on the graphics. It was another point I brought up and was told would be fixed for the final version... but I fear this may not be the case afterall. So please let me know.

The Last Chance Detectives keeps on coming. Today marks the arrival of the third episode in "The Day Ambrosia Stood Still" saga. You'll find a copy at Oneplace, so enjoy the show!

It's that time of year again where slow news days are the norm. The only interesting thing going on is probably The AIOHQ / Soda Fountain End of Season Awards, which you should vote in if you haven't had a chance!

And some sad news... I can confirm my June 7 speculation that I will once again need to postpone the actor database. It seems that every time I think I've developed a time saving system, I end up digging myself a hole that I need to climb back out of. Though of the roughly 1400 characters that have appeared on the show, I've completed entries for 900+ of them. This includes listing all the episodes that character appears in, as well as a short biography of who that character is. It also links back to the actor where you'll find a picture (if available), other major projects they've been involved in and a listing of all characters they play. It's a very ambitious project but one that's definitely nearing completion. Rather than specify a date like I have in the past, I'll hold off until I know I'm definitely going to make the deadline I set for myself. So stay tuned!

June 14, 2004
The voting has begun! It is a two part voting process this year. The first phase will take you to the AIOHQ were you will vote on the categories of Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Sound Design. Then you'll fly back to the Soda Fountain and vote on Best Scene, Best Episode, and submit your thoughts for this season and the seasons to come. In advance, we thank you for voting!

June 13, 2004
Remember those unforeseen circumstances I mentioned yesterday? Well, they've come up. The AIOHQ / Soda Fountain End of Season Awards will be launched first thing tomorrow, rather than today. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you... though I can't possibly imagine what that might be. ;o)

In the meantime, check out The Last Chance Detectives over on Oneplace as well as the new Father Gilbert: "The Play's the Thing". Both are sure to entertain!

June 12, 2004
The second episode of The Last Chance Detectives airs today. It's part two of "The Day Ambrosia Stood Still" and can be heard at Oneplace. If the episode isn't officially posted later in the day, I will provide a link for you here.

And baring any unforeseen circumstances, the AIOHQ / Soda Fountain End of Season awards will be launched tomorrow.

Things are getting back to normal around here. I've removed both the Calgary Flames logo and the Current Attraction links from the top of the page. Though keep in mind that if you're new to this site, I have over 200 trivia questions in "The Soda Fountain Quiz" for you to try during the AIO off season. I also have an AIO Guestbook and Odyssey Scrapbook featuring images and a journal from my time in Colorado Springs with the Odyssey team.

And coming this weekend, the AIOHQ and the Soda Fountain will be launching the End of Season awards. So check back then to cast your votes for the season gone by.

After 108 hard hitting NHL games, the Calgary Flames fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning 2 - 1 in the final game of the year. It was a tough loss to take, especially with Calgary coming so close to bringing home the Stanley Cup just two nights ago. However, congratulations Calgary on making this city proud and bringing everyone together! It's been one exciting year of hockey!

In Odyssey news, yesterday in Colorado Springs, the Odyssey Writer's meeting kicked off. For those who don't know, it's an event in which all the writers and production crew meet to discuss future storylines, brainstorm new characters, and assign scripts to writers. They will continue to meet everyday this week to plot out much of next year's key story elements. So unfortunately, we won't find out much of what was discussed until next year!

The Official Site has posted some teasers for the second episode of The Last Chance Detectives. A lot of fans are giving the first show rave reviews, so if you haven't already done so then you should check out Oneplace and hear it for yourself!

And just so people know, LCD is not replacing Adventures in Odyssey. There is not, nor has there ever been, talk of replacing AIO with LCD. This 12 episode run is a special feature that the team felt would be a nice break while they prepare even more Odyssian goodness for the Fall and beyond. In fact, there is no talk of shutting down Odyssey period. While yes, it will come to an end one day, that end is not in the foreseeable future. So rest easy AIO purists, the show will go on for many more years to come.

Other things on the agenda today: First, I'd like to congratulate Jacob Isom over at the Odyssey Scoop for graduating from high school. It will feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off your shoulders when that fateful day comes for the rest of you... but don't be fooled. Things just get harder from that day on out. I'm sure Jacob is up to the challenge though, so congrats! :o)

Second, I may once again need to postpone the actor database. Work continues on it as usual, but the size and complexity of such an undertaking is unparalleled to anything you've ever seen on an Odyssey website before. To borrow a phrase from last week's unveiling at the Odyssey Scoop... it's enough to blow your mind. I can only hope for your patience and understanding and know that I'm taking great care to make sure the feature will not disappoint anyone.

Finally, today is the last game of the season for the Calgary Flames as it's game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The winner of the match tonight will be crowned NHL champion. Unfortunately, with an impending lockout next year, this could be the last NHL game played in quite some time. So if you're looking for a great load of excitement and lots of tension, I once again urge you to tune into ABC this evening (the game starts at 8:00 EST) and watch some intense hockey with a lot on the line. I know my heart will be barely able to take the excitement (nor the heartbreak if it comes to that). So without further ado... Go Flames Go!

June 06, 2004
What did everyone think of The Last Chance Detectives? There's a place over at The Town Hall set up to talk about the show with your theories and general thoughts. So if you have anything to share, feel free to take advantage of it.

Oh, and the Flames lost in double overtime last night :o(. It would have been wonderful to see the Flames win the Stanley Cup on home ice and it's very unfortunate. Especially because there was a controversial non-goal that wasn't noticed by anyone on the ice. The Flames scored in the third period, but the players and officials didn't see it and only the people in the broadcast booth did. The replays showed the puck had crossed the line, but it was too late for them to do anything about it. What a shame. They've come a long way this year, and if they don't win the cup tomorrow in Tampa Bay, it will be a very sad way for this season to end with nothing to show for it. There's only one game left now... the winning team will be the champions of the NHL.

June 05, 2004
The Last Chance Detectives is up at Oneplace today, listed under the Adventures in Odyssey weekend section. This will be the case for the next four weeks and then I'm not sure what will happen (either old AIO shows will air, or they will air the final 8 LCD's). In either case, enjoy today's show featuring Jason Whittaker!

Also, tonight is game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. It's in Calgary and if the Flames win tonight, they will skate away with the Stanley Cup in one of the most improbable championships in NHL history, if not all sports. If they lose, they get another crack at it this Monday... let's hope we don't have to go that far. If you get ABC in your area, check the game out! It'll be on at 8:00 EST.

June 03, 2004
Not much is going on with AIO right now, though The Last Chance Detectives will be airing this weekend on your local radio station. I've received some requests to clear up the debate on whether or not LCD will be airing on your radio station. Unfortunately, it's a different case for every single provider. Either:

It will air in AIO's time slot
It will air in a new time slot
It won't be airing at all

You will need to contact your radio station and find out which category you fall into. An easy way to do this would be to check out their website, if they have one, and look up their schedule of programs for this week. Hope that helps!

Other things on the horizon will be the AIOHQ and Soda Fountain End of Season Awards. A start date for the awards has not yet been decided, but we'll try and have it up for you either this weekend or next... so come back for more information soon. And of course work continues (at a snail's pace I might add) on the actor database of mine. I'm still shooting for June 22 and will let you know if anything changes.

Finally, I'm thinking about starting up a daily entry of sorts here. For the past few years (when this site was running of course), it's always been my policy to update only when I have new information to post. But I'm thinking about starting up a daily blog of sorts, with my thoughts on AIO, the world and just about anything I feel like writing about. Love it? Hate it? Let me know... I'm always open to suggestions on how to improve this site.

June 01, 2004
Well Jacob's been promising a feature that would blow your minds, so if you're curious what it is... head over to the Odyssey Scoop and find out for yourself!

Also, The Soda Fountain along with the AIOHQ are once again teaming up for our annual awards. Check out this Town Hall Thread for nominee information and let your voice be heard!
